MACHINIC CONVERSATIONS

This robotic fabricated aggregate structure was co-designed by 4 teams (21 students). The collaborative effort progressed in loops, with the work of one group informing the operation of the next. The feedback is mediated by a set of interfaces; real-time scanning and digital generative modeling. This allows for conversation with the robotic machine and fibrous material system.

During this 4 days workshop, students from the Fabrication Ecologies research line of the Master in Advanced Architecture at IAAC were able to develop and test a new fabrication protocol deploying hemp fibres by means of an industrial robot. →
